Vince DiPofi of SSOE Presents on Going Green
TOLEDO, Ohio, July 30, 2008- SSOE's ownVince DiPofi, PE, will be leading a discussion on the evolving future of biofuels for the August 7th event Going Green: Exploring Alternative Energy Resources. Mr. DiPofi has over 25 years of technical experience and serves as the Sr. Vice-President of the Biofuels division at SSOE. The panel discussion including experts from Xunlight and The University of Toledo will also focus on Solar Power, Wind Energy, and Electric Conversion and Storage.
SSOE is ranked 8th nationally among engineering and architectural firms (Building Design + Construction, 2008) and over 50% of their employees have worked on an alternative energy project within the last year. Mr. DiPofi led SSOE's entry into the emerging biofuels market, where they currently have numerous biofuels projects underway in 4 states including cellulosic ethanol and advanced biofuels projects. In addition, SSOE was awarded a patent for an innovative new process that reduces the energy and cost of producing biodiesel. He and his team are also working with The University of Toledo and several area groups to lead the way in making Toledo a nationwide center for biofuels production and distribution.
Mr. DiPofi is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and has been a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and Michigan since 1990. He received his Bachelor of Science from The University of Toledo in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. He was named Young Engineer of the Year in 1991 by the Toledo Society of Professional Engineers and has been in the A/E consulting industry since 1981 serving previously as engineer, project manager and business manager. His clients, among others, include Go Ethanol, Freedom Fuels, ConAgra Foods and P&G.
