—
Cartus Corporation, the premier provider of global mobility management and workforce development solutions, has won "The Office Building of the Year" (TOBY) Award in the corporate category for its Apple Ridge Road headquarters property off Kenosia Avenue in Danbury, Connecticut, from the Southern Connecticut chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
During their visit to the property, BOMA judges considered and ranked specific aspects of the Apple Ridge office, such as maintenance of grounds and parking areas, design and efficiency of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and space planning, signage, lighting, amenities offered, environmental processes, security and emergency preparedness planning, overall procedures in all functional areas, and building condition.
"The Office Building of the Year Award is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing excellence in building management, operational efficiency, tenant retention, emergency planning, and community impact," said Sharon L. Moran, executive director of the Southern Connecticut chapter of BOMA. The organization covers the area from New Haven south to the New York line and includes Danbury, Shelton, and other nearby Connecticut towns.
Debra Smith, director of facilities at Cartus, accepted the TOBY award at an October 30 dinner at the Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut. She and Larry Post, Cartus’ vice president of global facilities, applauded the contributions of Cartus team members and key suppliers, including: Bruce Malcolm of facilities; Teri Doern of maintenance/Grubb & Ellis; Jorge Jimenez of janitorial/Horizon Services; Jim Terry and Tracy Rice of security/Securitas; Mark Langdon of office services/Pitney Bowes; Abraham Tama and Jennifer Gay of food services/Aramark; and Bob Billingham of space planning.
"It takes a lot of teamwork and effort to achieve an honor like this," said Post. "I know that this award is very meaningful to our team, and I am extremely proud of their accomplishments."
